Step by step guide to install and implement Rkhunter.

Installing rkhunter on Centos 5 and 6
======

#cd /usr/src/
#  wget http://nchc.dl.sourceforge.net/project/rkhunter/rkhunter/1.4.0/rkhunter-1.4.0.tar.gz
#tar -zxvf rkhunter-1.4.0.tar.gz
#cd rkhunter-1.4.0

#./installer.sh --layout default --install
#/usr/local/bin/rkhunter --update
#/usr/local/bin/rkhunter --propupd



Adding to Daily Cron

#vi /etc/cron.daily/rkhunter.sh


#!/bin/sh
(
/usr/local/bin/rkhunter --versioncheck
/usr/local/bin/rkhunter --update
/usr/local/bin/rkhunter --cronjob --report-warnings-only
) | /bin/mail -s 'rkhunter Daily Run (PutYourServerNameHere)' your@email.here


Chmod rkhunter.sh to root only

#chmod 700 /etc/cron.daily/rkhunter.sh


For finding all the options use the below command:
